Masons and Templars

Who were these Knights?

The Red Cross Knights Templars were founded by Hugh de Paynes and eight companions to protect pilgrims in Jerusalem. They were originally called Poor Knights of Christ of the Temple of Solomon.

The White Cross Knights Templars were founded by Gerard de Martignes in the early part of the 11th century in Jerusalem. They were originaly called Knights of the Order of the Hospital of St. John in Jerusalem.  They were offiicially recognised in 1113 by Pope Paschal the Second.

The Knights of Malta so named due to their residence on the island which had been given to them by The Holy Roman Emperor Charles V in 1530. This order comprised of the Poor Knights of Christ of the Temple of Solomon who had been persecuted and driven out of Europe by Pope Clement V and French King Phillip IV on Friday, October 13, 1307.

The Freemasons, officially known as The Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, claim a heritage that goes back to ancient Egypt. There are two distinct rites, Scottish Rite and the York Rite. The order is thought to have arisen from English and Scottish fraternities of stone masons and cathedral builders of the middle ages. Coincedentally about when the Templar Oders were destroyed. The first known Lodges were set up in England in 1717, and the fraternity quicky spread throughout Europe and into the Americas.

There are subtle and esoteric ties between the three Knight Orders and the Freemasons  which continue today. We have selected books that deal with these subtle and esoteric ties and with the esoteric missions these organizations follow. Much has been said yet much remains hidden.
